Job Description
The Global SISNet IT function is looking for an SAP NetWeaver architect to join a global SAP development team of 8 and a global offshore development team of about 30.
The responsibilities of the role will be to:
- Develop and govern the SAP NetWeaver Java development process, standards and naming conventions, working instructions and others
- Design and develop templates for various SAP NetWeaver Java technologies (WebDynpro, Visual Composer and others) and align them with Novartis Web visual identity
- Design and develop SAP NetWeaver Java applications using Composition Environment and Enterprise Portal technologies (such as WebDynpro, Visual Composer, BPM, BRM, CAF and others)
- Develop the overall SAP NetWeaver Web application architecture, ensuring that the architecture is appropriate across Novartis and aligned with defined Novartis enterprise architecture
- Create SAP architectural models and architecture documentation
- Evaluate alternative approaches, prototype as needed, recommend solutions, create and maintain architecture documentation
- Create specifications for components and interfaces
- Analyze, design, realize and implement IT solutions, including:
- Write project related documentation such as technical system design, user manual and others.
- Convert technical and business requirements into adequate IT solutions for an allocated area of a project or work task.
- Serve as technical leader and mentor to the offshore development team.
- Manage the development process and resources delivering the technical solution according to the business requirements.

Minimum requirements
- University degree or equivalent in Information Technology experience
- more than 6 years of IT experience out of which last 4 years in the development and design of SAP NetWeaver Java applications (SAP Enterprise Portal and Composition Environment)
- Experience in design and governance of SAP NetWeaver Java development processes and standards desired
- Active participation in at least 2 complete implementation project cycles from blue print till post go-live support as a SAP NetWeaver Java developer
- In-depth knowledge and working experience with Enterprise Portal, Composition Environment and NetWeaver Development
- Sound knowledge of the SAP NetWeaver technology platform and related products (SOA, ESR and others)
- Java background
- Knowledge of ABAP programming language advantageous
- Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus
- Excellent analytical skills, solution and target oriented
